The issue
Creating a technology environment from near scratch
Pace Claims are leaders in mass tort claims management and handling. When Pace became divested from Navigant in 2018, they found themselves needing to (re)create just about every element of technology and infrastructure.
This included migrating to a new data center, re-licensing every product used, implementing all security components, transferring employee’s email and profiles, and other issues. Part of the project included carving out almost 50 virtual machines from a large VMWare cluster running approx. 300 virtual machines.
The solution
Careful planning and strong execution
Integris planned, collaborated with Pace CIO Bryan LeBlanc, and executed without noticeable interruption. Our goal was to make the organization more resilient afterward – leaving their technical environment better than we found it.
Cloud migration
We transitioned a total of 168 virtual CPUs, approx. 2TB of RAM, and close to 100TB of storage from one private cloud to another. Some of the systems included in the scope of the migration were migrated Oracle database servers, multiple web servers, applications servers, etc. They were running Windows as well as Linux.
Active Directory setup
We complimented their infrastructure by setting up a new Active Directory domain for migrated systems and another separate AD domain for end-users and their resources. The second AD domain spans over the locally deployed domain controller as well as Azure Active Directory services.
Increased security
Microsoft 365 services were reviewed and secured according to our best practices by adding systems like Duo Security and Conditional Access. The entire environment is monitored, controlled and patched using our Remote Management and Monitoring platform.
The result
The company has a new and improved start to their technology
“We have improved our security and flexibility, begun our cloud migration, and switched to remote working due to the COVID crisis. Again, with the guidance of Integris not missing a single step. Our future is planning for better efficiencies and reducing costs – all while preparing for the next unexpected turn. As Integris has proven repeatedly, they will be a trusted partner on this journey forward.”
