Welcome back to our Team Highlight. Today, meet Justin from Integris’ office in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Could you describe your role/what you do in 2-3 sentences?
I am a Service Desk Team Lead of the Orange Team in the MD/DC office. I manage a team of 5 people that primarily support the Orange Team clients. I am also responsible for managing customer relationships as it relates to service desk support.
How did you become interested in technology/IT as a career?
I got interested in computers at a young age. I took every computer course in school that was available and always seemed to excel at it. I built my own computer when I was 17 years old and just sort of fell in love with it. When I was 18 I applied for an entry-level computer support technician and got the job. I am still working in IT 28 years later.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Without a doubt, it is the challenge of figuring something out. We spend all day solving problems. The problems that are the most difficult to solve are always the most rewarding. The greatest high in the world is being able to solve a problem that you have been struggling with for days, weeks, or even months.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy going to the movies with my wife and daughter. I enjoy watching sports and going to sporting events. I also enjoy playing video games with my friends and coworkers.
Your favorite movie?
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
What are some things you love about the place you currently live?
I live in a small historic city in MD that is right on the water. It has a lot of cool historical places to see and it is fairly quiet. They don’t allow a lot of big businesses in, to keep the small town appeal.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I am a night owl.
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Hopefully alive and healthy. Would still like to be working for Integris 10 years from now. I would also be very close to paying off my home which would be really nice.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Good things come to those who wait. We have a tendency to want things right now in life and having some patience tends to pay off eventually.
If you could have a superpower, what would you want and why?
The ability to fly so I could avoid traffic on my way to work.
