Welcome back to our Team Highlight. Today, meet Michelle from Integris’ office in Marquette, Michigan.
Could you describe your role/what you do in 2-3 sentences?
Strategic Services Supervisor. I oversee our Virtual Chief Information officers and Client Success Managers for the portion of Integris – Midwest, formerly known as Compudyne. Our team works with clients helping them to create a solid IT infrastructure and build a strategic partnership with them.
How did you become interested in technology/IT as a career?
I went to school for Network and Database Administration. In my previous occupation, I was a systems analyst and was one of two IT people for the company. I also worked directly with our MSP that housed our core processing system.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of this job is being able to advocate for our clients and look out for their best interest. While also working hand in hand with every single department within the company. Building those connections is super important for functional working relationships.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? What are some of your hobbies?
I absolutely love spending time with my family. My boyfriend Dave, 4 kids, and our 3 large dogs. Mountain biking is one of my favorite outdoor activities to partake in as well, as the trail system in the UP is fantastic! In addition, I love going to places I have never been before and experiencing new things.
What’s your favorite game?
First thing that comes to mind is family game night! One of the new fun games we have stumbled across is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. Lots of laughs, but beware you will likely get sore hands!
What are some things you love about the place you currently live?
Marquette, Michigan is an absolutely beautiful place to live. Right on Lake Superior. Mountain bike trails everywhere. People who live here love the outdoors and you must love ALL the seasons. We get a lot of snow up here!
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Neither really. I love the early morning hours, but don’t like to actually get up in the morning. As far as night owl is concerned, generally asleep by 11 pm.
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? (Doesn’t have to be work-related!)
In 10 years, I would love to be happily married and empty nesters. Really looking forward to being able to do some traveling and going on adventures with my significant other.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever received was when one of my professors told me to always say “Absolutely I can do it!” even if you have no clue, and then figure it out later.
If you could have a superpower, what would you want and why?
Is being able to stay young forever a superpower? Because if so, that’s the one I want. For obvious reasons, I think.
