The Final Edition

Have you heard? I’m transitioning my role at Integris to be the new Senior Director of Security and Compliance at cloud services distributor Pax8.

This might come as a surprise to many of you, as I’ve been working with this incredible group of people for ten years—having come on as employee number seven at Choose Networks in Wichita, long before it merged into Integris. Over the years, I’ve moved up from having an office in a storage closet to leading the Iconic’s security and education efforts nationwide. And I’ve had the privilege of having a pretty big pulpit in the tech space, speaking and teaching about the future of networking strategy and cybersecurity.

So, believe me when I say, this decision did not come lightly.

Yet, in many ways, this new position at Pax8 will allow me to keep doing what I’ve always done, but on a larger scale. Many of you may already know Pax8 as one of the services we offer to Iconic customers. Pax8 earned its spot at Iconic because it provides a secure, end-to-end cloud stack, bundling dozens of cloud services from Microsoft 365 to high-end security programs, all in one package. Customers get a true turnkey cloud experience, with all their infrastructure, productivity, continuity, communications, and security tools packaged together, so they are easy to track, secure and service.

With my new role at Pax8, you can rest assured that Iconic will have a direct line to all the company’s products, at a price you’ll appreciate. And I can say that with confidence, because I will continue to have a role as an equity stakeholder in Integris. In many ways, it’s the best of both worlds for me, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I hope you are, too, because there are exciting roads ahead for all of us.

As I’ve been wrapping up my tenure, I’ve been working full tilt to finish off some initiatives, removing old legacy security tools we’re now taking in house, and writing new SOPs for our compliance systems, as a start. I also had the privilege of speaking at my share of events, including ConnectWise Secure 2021, where I spoke on a keynote panel to 2000 attendees. We spoke on the topic of what managed services providers need to do to become more security focused. I have every confidence that Matt Topper and the whole team in Iconic Operations will be well equipped to take that task on, going forward.

As the months go on, I intend to keep speaking, consulting, and teaching about all the same subjects. So, stay tuned. There’s so much more to come—from me, PAX8, and from Integris!
